Eurosaf European Women Match Race 2008 - ISAF grade 1 - Saint Quay Portrieux, on Friday 12 th September

After day 2, Anne Claire Le Berre, former French Yngling Olympic campaigner, and newcomer on the Women Match Racing scene, takes a clear lead in Saint Quay Portrieux, 6 points ahead from Lotte Maalgard-Pedersen (DEN, World Top 2nd) and Silke Hahlbrock (GER, World top 4th).

Despite pretty light winds and showers, slowing down boat speed, Officials and Umpires do succeeded in completing a first round robin and in starting a second one, Anne Claire winning all her matches, by the exception of the one sailed against Julie Bossard (FRA).
Two teams will have to retire today, for the quarter finals to be run in the afternoon. Semi finals and finals to be sailed on Saturday, the winner receiving the Perpetual Trophy presented by George Wossala, EUROSAF President.
