Until now only 12 teams have been able to enter the present Championships. Therefore, we will very much like to start two new 'feeder events' for the European Championship. These events are targeted sailors outside the top 20-25 European Teams, in order to give them a possibility to qualify for the Championship.

Match racing has become an Olympic discipline, therefore, we assume that more European Countries will be interested in participation in the European Championship.

WE NEED TWO ORGANISERS !

Our wish is to have two qualification events, one in northern and one in southern Europe.

Each event should accommodate as many teams as possible with maybe up to 20-24 teams per event.

The format will then have a cup system with a repercharge.

The event organisers need at least 6 equal boats (8 boats would be perfect)

If possible, we would try to involve some match racing coaches in the events in order to help the participants. We have contacted Olympic Solidarity concerning this.

The winning teams from each event will gain automatic entry to the European Championship

The event should take place no later than June 2009, since the European Championship is held in Denmark August 5th to 9th.

Is there a club and/or match racing centre in you country, which would e prepared to organise one of these events ?

PLEASE RESPOND before the end of February, so we will be able to proceed with this in direct contact with potential organisers.

We need contact persons, phone numbers and mail of potential organisers.
